Summary:This invention provides a variable order delta-sigma modulator which is capable of setting an optimum number of order with respect to the sampling frequency. The delta-sigma modulator of this invention is capable of performing a delta-sigma modulation of more them three orders, and includes a combination of two continuous integrators. Means for connecting and disconnecting a first integrator and a second integrator, or means for switching the connection between the two integrators is provided at the second integrators side at the junction of the first and second integrators. As a result, the modulation is performed with an optimum order of the delta sigma modulator with respect to the sampling frequency by connecting and disconnecting the connection or switching the connection between the two integrators by such means.
