Summary:The invention provides an optical disc drive control method for reading data on an optical disc. The optical disc drive contains a pickup head sled that can slide laterally. The invented method contains the followings: as the sled is going to slide from a start position to a target position on the optical disc, based on the speed of the sled relative to the optical disc, a brake force is added to the sled when the sled is located at a middle position.
