The subject invention provides a hair growth phase extender composition comprising at least one unsaturated fatty acid selected from the group consisting of petroselinic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, vaccenic acid, alpha-linoleic acid, gamma-linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, and docosahexaenoic acid as an effective ingredient, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier therefore, wherein the double bond of the unsaturated fatty acid is a cis-form, and the amount of the effective ingredient is 0.01 ppb by weight to 20.0% by weight, based upon the total weight of the composition. The subject invention also provides a hair growth phase extender composition comprising an extract of a plant belonging to the Coriandrum as an effective ingredient and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier therefore, wherein the amount of the effective ingredient is 500 ppb by weight to 20.0% by weight, based on the total amount of the composition, and the extract of a plant belonging to the Coriandrum contains at least petroselinic acid or oil acid.
