Summary: | The present invention discloses a south bridge chip and north bridge chip connection architecture for multiple selections. It includes a north bridge chip and a south bridge chip with a private link bus. By applying the principle of disabling and enabling the bi-directional communication with bus arbiter, the up/down controller and the peripheral component interconnect (PCI) response device in the south bridge chip can make various linkages in accordance with the designer's requirements and operate under different modes. Thus, not only manpower and material wastage caused due to the necessity of a redesign when peripherals are unable to cooperate can be reduced but also, with chip unification, factory internal material control efficiency can be improved. |
