Summary: | The present invention provides a fluorescent luminous type display device capable of conducting high brightness display through the use of simplified structure. In the invented fluorescent luminous type display device, the cathode electrode 106 and the emitter 107 formed by material for emitting electrons under electric field are disposed in lamination on the inner surface of an insulating substrate 101 constituting a vacuum airtight container 100. The anode electrode 104 and the phosphor layer 105 are disposed in lamination on the inner surface of another insulating substrate 102, in which the phosphor layer 105 contains material for conducting the emission of the secondary electrons. When a switch 110 is closed, the electron emitted from the emitters 107 are permitted to impinge on the phosphor layers so as to cause luminescence thereof. Though the anode electrode 104 is merely applied with a pulse-like drive signal through a capacitor 111, by using the secondary electrons emitted from the phosphor layers 105, the luminescence can be maintained even after the drive signal is ceased. |
