To prevent a driving feeling from being worsened by operating the other brake operating member in an excellent braking state obtained by the operation of one brake operating member in a brake control device for a vehicle wherein a pair of brake operating force transmission systems are connected to a single wheel brake and respectively provided with brake operating force reducing means capable of weakening brake operating force transmitted to the wheel brake. When the brake operating force reducing means provided at one brake operating force transmission system is immediately before starting its operation while brake operating force is transmitted to a wheel brake BF from only one of both brake operating force transmission systems TB, TC, the brake operating force reducing means provided at the other brake operating force transmission system out of both brake operating force transmission systems TB, TC is operated to limit the transmission of brake operating force to the wheel brake BF from the other brake operating force transmission system.
