Summary:The present invention relates to a load port and a method for opening/closing a storage container. The load port is connected to a transport part and comprises: a base, configured to be a part of a wall of the transport part; a stage, on which the storage container is mounted; a stage driving mechanism, configured to move the stage toward or away from the base; a door, configured to be able to open/close an opening on a cover of the storage container installed on the stage facing the base, and hold the cover facing the opening under a state that the opening is closed; a door driving mechanism, configured to move the door between an open position and a close position; and a movement limiting part, configured to limit the movement of the stage in the direction away from the base by abutting against the stage.
