Summary:The present technology relates to: an imaging element capable of extending a dynamic range without reducing the saturation electric charge amount of a photodiode; and an electronic device. The present invention comprises: a photoelectric conversion unit for converting light into an electric charge; a plurality of accumulation parts for temporarily accumulating the electric charge; a plurality of transfer parts for transferring the electric charge to the accumulation parts; and a through-trench for separating pixels. At least one accumulation part among the plurality of accumulation parts is a capacitive element, and at least one accumulation part among the plurality of accumulation parts accumulates an electric charge overflowing from the photoelectric conversion unit. The present technology can be applied to, for example, an imaging element for capturing an image.
