Summary:Provided is a method for producing a phosphor having a core-shell structure that has: a core part that is composed of a crystal phase of an inorganic compound having a metal element M and aluminum constituting luminescent center ions; and a shell part that contains at least one element selected from the group consisting of boron and silicon, and that is formed on at least a portion of the surface of the core part. The method includes: a step for mixing a raw material of the crystal phase and a raw material of the shell part; and a step for heating the obtained mixture at a temperature at which the raw material of the shell part is liquefied but a host crystal of a phosphor to be obtained can be retained, wherein the raw material of the crystal phase contains a raw material compound in which D50 in the particle size distribution is 0.2-90 [mu]m and that contains aluminum.
