Summary:Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a reduced-capability user equipment (RedCap UE) may transmit, to a base station, capability information indicating reduced capabilities of the RedCap UE associated with conducting half-duplex frequency division duplex (HD-FDD) communication. The RedCap UE may receive, from the base station, HD-FDD configuration information for conducting the HD-FDD communication with the base station, the HD-FDD configuration information being based at least in part on the capability information. The RedCap UE may communicate, by transmitting data or receiving data during the HD-FDD communication, based at least in part on the HD-FDD configuration information.
