The problem can be solved by a thermoplastic resin composition for an optical material, the thermoplastic resin composition containing a compounding agent represented by general formula (1). (In general formula (1), R1 to R5 independently represent a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms in total which may have a substituent; R6 to R9 independently represent a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms in total which may have a substituent; and R10 represents a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms in total.).
