Summary:Provided are a scrap discrimination system and a scrap discrimination method which can improve a scrap discrimination technology. The scrap discrimination system comprises: a scrap portion extraction model (221) which extracts, on the basis of camera images, scrap portions present in center sections included in the camera images on the basis of window sections (107) provided in advance in the images; a scrap discrimination model (222) which sorts grades of scraps and ratios of the grades from the scrap images extracted by the scrap portion extraction model (221) and is generated by means of teacher data including training images; and an output unit (24) which outputs information about the scrap grades and the grade ratios discriminated on the basis of the scrap images by using the scrap discrimination model (222).
