Summary:A unique polyol compound formed by a reaction between a carbonate compound represented by Formula I and a polyamine compound is provided. A polyurethane-based adhesive composition comprising the polyol compound can produce an adhesive layer exhibiting superior bond strength and heat seal strength which will not be substantially deteriorated by the change in the weight ratio between isocyanate component and polyol component. Methods for preparing the polyol compound and for preparing the adhesive composition, as well as a laminate article prepared with said adhesive composition are also provided.
