Summary:This fastener stringer (30) includes: a fastener tape (10) having a knitted texture; and fastener elements (20) provided on the fastener tape (10). The fastener tape (10) includes: a first tape region (11) in which the fastener elements (20) are provided; a second tape region (12) provided spaced apart from the fastener elements (20) in a weft direction; and a third tape region (13) provided between the fastener elements (20) and the second tape region (12). The weft-direction width of the third tape region (13) is no greater than the weft-direction width of the second tape region (12). Elastic insertion yarns (63c) in the third tape region (13) are braided to have a swing spanning a plurality of wales. The wale interval in the third tape region (13) is smaller than the wale interval in the second tape region (12) due to constraints imposed by the elastic insertion yarns (63c) in the third tape region (13).
