Summary:A method and a system for controlling an audio device are disclosed. The method and system are applied to a USB audio adaptor that includes an analog audio interface and is connected to a host. The method includes steps of: detecting whether the analog audio interface is connected to a target device, or detecting a function of the target device, and generating a detection result accordingly; controlling the USB audio adaptor to operate in a disconnected mode; and according to the detection result, letting the USB audio adaptor continue operating in the disconnected mode or controlling the USB audio adaptor to operate in a connected mode to send audio data to the host or receive audio data from the host.
