Summary:A heat exchanger 20 comprises a prismatic heat exchanging element 21, a plurality of frame members 22 that are mounted along each edge extending in the axial direction of the heat exchanger element 21, and a cover member 23 that covers the end face of the heat exchanger element 21 perpendicular to the axial direction and to which the plurality of frame members 22 are connected. Each connecting portion between the plurality of frame members 22 and the cover member 23 is provided with a gap 25, 26 to permit motion of the frame members 22 in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the heat exchanger element 21. Thus, the plurality of frame members 22 can move in response to deformation of the heat exchanger element 21.
