A method for positioning on WEB browser includes issuing a positioning request by a mobile apparatus. The mobile apparatus connects to a cell and obtains a cell information, which includes cell ID. The mobile apparatus encapsulates the cell informaing having the cell ID into a first packet and transmits the first packet to a SUPL server through the cell. The SUPL server parses the cell ID from the cell information and checks the cell ID with internal database of the SUPL server to find the a geometrical coordinate of the cell recorded in the internal database. The SUPL server encapsulate an information having the geometrical coordinate into a second packet. The SUPL server transmits the second packet to the mobile apparatus through the cell. The mobile apparatus parses the geometrical coordinate of the cell in the second packet and provides for use in positioning of the mobile apparatus.
