The present invention discloses a liquid crystal composition, comprising a first compound which is selected from a compound represented by formula I-1, a compound represented by formula I-2 or a combination thereof; a second compound which is selected from a compound represented by formula II-1, a compound represented by formula II-2, a compound represented by formula II-3, a compound represented by formula II-4 or a combination thereof. The liquid crystal composition provided by the present invention has properties such as an appropriate optical anisotropy, an appropriate dielectric anisotropy, a higher clearing point, a fast response speed and a good high temperature stability, and is suitable for use in a liquid crystal display to make the liquid crystal display possess characteristics such as a short response time, high reliability and workability at high temperature.
