The present invention provides a method for sharing exercise state in an exercise network, which comprises: each portable electronic device executing an exercise program to generate and display a sharing interface and each receiving an actual exercise state of a piece of exercise equipment that establishes a communication connection therewith. The portable electronic devices transmit, through a communication network, and store the actual exercise states in a server. Each portable electronic device is connected, through the communication network, to a community website to retrieve and display the information of multiple friends who use the exercise program on the sharing interface. Each sharing interface selects at least one piece of the friend information so that the server may transmit the actual exercise state of the selected piece of friend information, through the communication network, to the portable electronic device and display it on the sharing interface.
