The present invention relates to an automatic boring apparatus for a medical catheter and a positioning and boring method applicable to punching of a medical catheter, the apparatus comprising: a machine body, a slidable stamping and vertically moving mechanism, a driving mechanism, and a abutting device. The slidable stamping and vertically moving mechanism and the driving mechanism are spaced apart to be arranged on the platform of the machine body. The abutting device is disposed at the inner side of the slidable stamping and vertically moving mechanism. The slidable stamping and vertically moving mechanism is equipped with a positioning block. The driving mechanism is provided with a rotation device at the front end. The center of the rotation device is provided with a positioning part corresponding to the positioning block. An odd or even number of positioning pins are disposed on the positioning part. The abutting device can be abutted against one side of the positioning block. As such, a medical cathet
