Summary:The present invention relates to a power saving device and a power saving method. The power saving device has a signal output circuit, a comparator circuit and a microprocessor. The comparator circuit connects to at least one reference signal and the signal output circuit to receive at least one output signal. When the at least one output signal is received, the comparator circuit compares the at least one output signal with the corresponding reference signal and then generates a comparing signal. The microprocessor enters a wake-up mode to execute a corresponding function according to the comparing signal. Therefore, the comparator circuit replaces that the microprocessor executes long-term scan or polling function, so a valuable output signal is determined quickly and power consumption is decreased. Further, an accumulated time error caused by firmware of the microprocessor can be eliminated.
