Summary:To provide a polyester-based conjugate fiber having high reflectance in infrared wavelength range (for example, 800 to 3000 nm), which is easy to be changed into thermal energy, as well as having color development property comparable to conventional polyester fibers. The polyester-based conjugate fiber is a sheath core conjugate fiber. The core comprises a thermoplastic polymer including a sunlight shielding material having a mean particle size of 0.5 m or less at 8% by weight to 70% by weight; and the sheath comprises a polyester-based polymer including a color-developable functional fine particle having a mean particle size of 0.1 m or less and being smaller than the sunlight shielding material at 0.5% by weight to 10% by weight. Further the mass ratio of core to sheath is core: sheath of 10: 90 to 30: 70.
