A portable electronic device comprises a main body and a cover body which opens and closes relatively to the main body. The main body has a keyboard on its upper surface. The cover body has a display panel which faces to the main body and a backlight module which provides light source to the display panel, and There has a light-emitting hole which is in the under portion of the front end of the cover body and toward the keyboard. The backlight module comprises a light source, a first light guide board which guides the light source to the display panel, and a second light guide board which sited under the first light guide board and collects the leaking light from the first light guide board and guides the leaking light to the light-emitting hole and lets the leaking light project to the keyboard. Therefore, the use of the leaking light of the backlight module can achieve the effect and purpose of keyboard lighting.
