Summary:A method for adjusting image quality of a video stream includes the following steps: a video stream request for asking a target video stream is received from a client. Information of connection bandwidth of the client is obtained. Determine if the connection bandwidth of the client is enough. When the connection bandwidth of the client is not enough, at least one video or audio quality parameter of the target video stream is selected for being downgraded. The downgraded target video stream is transmitted to the client. Information of the connection bandwidth of the client is kept being obtained to be a factor during transmitting the whole target video stream. In addition, a system for adjusting video or audio quality of a video stream is also disclosed.
