Summary:A key mechanism configured for turning on and off an electronic device, is made of semitransparent materials and includes a key, a light guiding portion and a connection portion. The electronic device includes a circuit board equipped with a switch. The key and the connection portion connect the two opposite side of the light guiding portion correspondingly. The light guiding portion includes a first light guiding area and a second light guiding area. The first and second light guiding areas are separated by the two sides of the key. The connection portion includes a resisting element for activating the switch, and a connection element vertically protruding from the edge of the resisting element. An electronic device using the key mechanism is also provided.
