Summary:A method for preparing expansible graphite comprises: carrying out oxidation of a first oxidant and a graphite to obtain a reactant; mixing the reactant, a second oxidant, an interlayering agent, and the water to obtain a mixture; and heating the mixture in a closed environment to obtain an expansible graphite. The process and facilities required by the disclosed method are simple, readily available, and low-cost, and the graphite can be provided with better expansion and interlayer effects, so as to obtain an expansible graphite with better flame retardancy.
