Summary: | The present invention relates to a high tenacity blended polypropylene/polyethylene fibre which polypropylene mixed with 10 to 45 wt% of high density polyethylene through melting spinning, cooling and drawing. The main component is homo polypropylene resin and the range of melting flow rates (MFR) is from 0.8 to 36 g/10min. The second component is high density polyethylene and the range of melting flow rates (MFR) is from 0.6 to 12 g/10min.The present invention could provide a method which draw the fibre above 90 DEG C at first stage then draw the fibre above 100 DEG C at second stage and the total drawing ratio is over 10.0 times for preparing novel high tenacity blended polypropylene/polyethylene fibre with average tenacity of 11.0 g/d (12.46 cN/dtex) more, average elongation of 12% below. |
