Summary: | Disclosed is an electrochemical device wherein electrode sheets are prevented from short-circuiting each other, even if a positional shift is generated and the electrode sheets are brought into contact with each other when the electrode sheets are folded. The electrochemical device has an electrode unit wherein a pair of strip-like electrode sheets are alternately stacked in a state wherein the electrode layers are not in contact with each other. Each of the pair of electrode sheets has: a strip-like power collector; a plurality of electrode layers formed in respective flat surface regions that are surrounded by the peripheral portion and the folding end portion, which are at least on one surface of the power collector; and insulating films, which are respectively formed on both the surfaces of the peripheral portion and on both the surfaces of the folding end portion in the power collector. |
