Summary:A touch panel structure and a method of forming the same. The touch panel structure includes a substrate, a patterned shielding layer and a sensing layer. The substrate has a touching region and a peripheral circuit region disposed on the periphery of the touching region, the patterned shielding layer is disposed on the surface of the peripheral circuit region, and the sensing layer is disposed on the surface of the touching region and the patterned shielding layer. The touch panel structure may simplify the forming process of the inter layer dielectric, such that the advantages of simple structure, simplified process and thin thickness may be achieved.
