Summary:Cooperative communication methods for a wireless communication network and devices configured to perform such methods are disclosed herein. In a described embodiment, the network includes a first communication device and a second communication device, each of the communication devices being associated with respective users and configured to communicate with a common base station. The cooperative communication method comprises the first communication device transmitting a first message to the second communication device for transmission to the base station as a first routed message; and receiving a second message from the second communication device for transmission to the base station as a second routed message. In this way, the transmission is able to achieve diversity gains at the base station.
