Summary: | Disclosed is a hard coat film that is used in optical applications such as polarizing plate protecting films for liquid crystal display devices and has a high quality without sacrificing flatness even when the ratio of the thickness of the hard coat layer to the layer thickness of a resin film base material is large. Also disclosed are a process for producing the hard coat film and an antireflection film. In a process of curing the hard coat layer provided by coating onto the resin film base material by actinic radiation irradiation, the average thickness of an entrained air layer in a space between the resin film base material and a backup roll is 0.5 to 10 [mu]m. Preferably, the net contact area between the backup roll (2) and the resin film base material (1) is 0.1 to 10% of the apparent contact area. |
