Summary:The invention provides a method for executing fast booting and general booting in BIOS stage. When a computer is powered on, the embedded controller firmware or BIOS determines whether a fast booting key is pressed. If the fast booting key is not pressed, a fast booting flag is changed from fast booting to general booting. If the fast booting key is pressed, the BIOS determines whether the booting flag is set to fast booting. When determining that the booting flag is set to fast booting, it executes initialization of the driver programs predefined for fast booting, while the non-initialized driver programs are initialized in the stage of starting the operating system. When determining that the booting flag is set to general booting, it executes initialization of all of the driver programs.
