Summary:This invention discloses a thin film solar cell having homojunction and manufacturing method thereof. The thin film solar cell comprises a substrate, a back electrode layer, an absorber layer, a buffer layer, and a transparent electrode layer which are stacked in order. Wherein the absorber layer has a chalcopyrite structure which is formed of a group I-III-VI compound, the buffer layer is formed of a group II-VI compound, a group III-VI compound or a group II-III-VI compound, and the absorber layer and the buffer layer are respectively and simultaneously formed by means of depositing precursors thereof and thermal treatment therein so that a homogenous junction is formed between the absorber layer and the buffer layer.
