This aims to provide a method for heating the welded portion of a steel pipe material so as to melt and pressure-weld the welded portion, and an apparatus for the method. When the moving steel pipe material is continuously induction-heated and welded as a heating object, the temperature of the welded portion, the shape of the welded steel and the welding frequency fluctuation are controlled highly precisely and highly efficiently irrespective of the shape of the heated portion of the heating object or the material of the heating object.
