Summary:The present invention provides a method for testing the transmission speed of network interface cards (NICs). The method includes: configuring internet protocol (IP) addresses of a first NIC and a second NIC, and configuring an IP address and a message authentication code (MAC) address of a virtual NIC; setting the second NIC as a promiscuous mode; setting an index of NIC transmission speed; detecting the IP address and the MAC address of the virtual NIC, and sending data packets to the virtual NIC via the first NIC; capturing the data packets via the second NIC; counting a capturing time of capturing the data packets; computing a lowest transmission speed while connecting the first NIC and the second NIC according to the size of the data packets and the capturing time; determining whether the lowest transmission speed exceeds the index of NIC transmission speed. A system for testing the transmission speed of network interface cards is also provided.
