Summary:A method for treating wastewater containing noble metal ions is disclosed, which includes contacting wastewater containing noble metal ions with a styrene oligomer or a copolymer of styrene and co-monomer having sulfate (SO4-) bound to surface thereof, reducing the noble metal ions to element form and deposit on the surface of the styrene oligomer or the copolymer by the sulfate, so that a treated water having reduced amount of noble metal ions is obtained.
