Summary:The present invention provides a light-emitting diode with improved reflector, which is provided with an improved reflector on a surface of a transparent substrate opposite to an illuminating layer of the light-emitting diode. The improved reflector has at least one transparent dielectric layer adjacent to the transparent substrate and at least a metal layer. Most of the emitted light of the light-emitting diode that passes through the transparent substrate undergoes total reflection at interface between the transparent substrate and the transparent dielectric layer so as to re-direct the emitted light toward the transparent substrate to emit upward. The light output of the light-emitting diode is thus enhanced.
