Summary:A method for determining the quality of oil comprising, (a) providing a mobile oil-analyzing apparatus comprising a vehicle, a database comprising near-infrared (NIR) spectra of standard oils from a plurality gasoline stations to establish correlation between quality parameter and the spectra of the oils, and a NIR spectrometer equipped on the vehicle for determining oil quality by the database, (b) moving the NIR spectrometer to a gasoline station by the vehicle, (c) collecting the oil sample and an NIR spectrum thereof from the gasoline station, and (d) comparing the collected spectrum to the NIR spectra of the standard oils in the database, and transforming into corresponding quality parameters.
