The present invention relates to methods and devices for checking glass blemish and foreign bodies, which are utilized on the production line and comprise: a light source, multiple linear-scanning image capture devices, and an image process/control module, wherein: the high-speed and high-resolution detection can be achieved via a feed/discharge mechanism, which moves the glass substrates ready for test along a unitary direction continuously, and the multiple linear-scanning image capture devices; utilizing the automatic brightness-modulating and the automatic notch-detecting functions for the glass substrate can promote the extent of automation; utilizing the automatic edge-finding function to set the coordinates of the glass substrate ready for test can promote the detection precision. Accordingly, the present invention can solve the problems of low speed and low sorting ability of the human detection or the conventional optical sampling inspection.
