Summary:The invention relates to a method and a device for applying regulable tensile stress distribution, in particular in the edge regions during cold rolling of metal strip (16), in particular metal foil, for the purpose of reducing the danger of excessive tension buildup and strip edge cracking which has the disadvantageous consequence of production-impeding strip cracks, as well as for the purpose of improving the strip surface and its evenness even at relatively fast strip speeds, and for the purpose of reducing strip trimming widths.
