Summary:A new anti-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory extract derived from the cartilage of embryonic cartilaginous fish, and a method for producing the extract has been developed. The extract is derived by culturing the chondrocytes from shark or shark embryo. Additionally, a specialized growth media containing serum from the blood of a cartilaginous fish has been developed for culturing the chondrocytes to produce the extract.
