Summary:The method comprises creation of toroidal magnetic fields and intermittent formation of plasma columns in two working volumes with a gas mixture of isotopes of hydrogen, those working volumes being located within the toroidal magnetic fields and being formed by toroidal discharge chambers (24, 25) placed one above the other, symmetrically in relation to the main horizontal plane of the tokamak reactor and enclosed in a common blanket (18), surrounded by a protection means (23) against radiation and provided with a means fur ensuring the circulation of the heat-carrying agent and comprising a plurality of interconnected pipes (19) placed in the body of the blanket (18). The plasma column in each of the chambers (24, 25) is formed by way of cyclic remagnetization of the inductor (1) of the reactor, whereas the plasma column is kept within the limits of each of the chambers (24, 25) by means of a steering magnetic field, of which the intensity and orientation along the circular axis of each of the chambers (24, 25) are changed synchronously with the remagnetization of the inductor (1). Continuous heating of the blanket (18) and generation of thermal energy therein is ensured by constant irradiation of the blanket (18) with fast neutrons produced in the course of thermo-nuclear fusion reactions in the plasma columns, which occur alternatively in each of the chambers (24, 25) during power input into those chambers from an external power source for the purpose of additional heating of the plasma.
