Cyclohexanedione derivatives of the general formula where R1 is alkyl, R2 is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or haloalkenyl, X is alkylene, n is 0 or 1, Y is a heterocyclic radical and Z is hydrogen or methoxycarbonyl, and salts of these compounds are used in herbicides.
