Spôsob predprípravy oceľových plechov a oceľových výliskov pred smaltovaním s použitím baktérií sa uskutočňuje v moriacom kúpeli 0,1 - 0,2 hmotn. % kyseliny sírovej s teplotou 30 - 35 °C, do ktorej boli pridané acidofilné baktérie Acidithiobacillus ferooxidans a Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans. Počas procesu sa moriaci roztok prebubláva vzduchom.
