It is disclosed the B form of 5-methoxy-2-[[(4-methoxy-3,5- dimethyl-2-pyridinyl) methyl] sulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazole, known under the generic name omeprazole, particularly crystalline form of the potassium salt of the (S)-enantiomer of 5-methoxy-2-[[(4- methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-2-pyridinyl) methyl] sulfinyl]-H- benzimidazole. Also, the process for preparing such a form of the potassium salt of (S)-omeprazole and pharmaceutical compositions containing it are disclosed. Opísaná je forma B 5-metoxy-2-[[(4-metoxy-3,5-dimetyl-2- pyridinyl)metyl]sulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazolu, ktorý je známy pod triviálnym názvom omeprazol, najmä kryštalická forma draselnej soli (S)-enantioméru 5-metoxy-2-[[(4-metoxy-3,5-dimetyl-2- pyridinyl)metyl]sulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazolu. Opísaný je ajspôsob prípravy takejto formy draselnej soli (S)-omeprazolu a farmaceutické kompozície, ktoré ju obsahujú.
