The use of theobromine and/or its salts and/or its complexes optionally in admixture with other known active ingredients and inert solid or liquid carriers, additives and auxiliary agents for the manufacture of an antitussive pharmaceutical composition suitable for relieving cough syndrome. The use of theobromine and/or its salts and/or its complexes optionally in admixture with inert, solid or liquid carriers, additives and auxiliary agents for the manufacture of an antitussive pharmaceutical composition being in the form of injection, syrup, dragee, tablet, pastille, suppository, capsule and retard forms of all of these such as liposomes. Použitie teobromínu a/alebo jeho solí, a/alebo jeho komplexov, prípadne v zmesi s inými známymi účinnými zložkami a inertnými, tuhými alebo kvapalnými nosnými látkami, aditívami a auxiliantmi, na prípravu antitusického farmaceutického prípravku vhodného na zmiernenie syndrómu kašľa. Použitie teobromínu a/alebo jeho solí, a/alebo komplexov, prípadne v zmesi s inertnými pevnými alebo kvapalnými nosnými látkami, aditívami a auxiliantmi, na výrobu antitusického farmaceutického prípravku, ktorý je vo forme injekcie, sirupu, dražé, tablety, pastilky, čapíka, tobolky a ich retardovanej formy, predovšetkým vo forme lipozómu.
