Summary:The product of man-made vitreous fibres is made of the oxides mixture, with weight composition: 36 to 55 % of SiO2, 15 to 30 % of Al2O3, 3 to 30 % of CaO, 5 to 20 % MgO, 4 to 15 % of FeO, 1 to 12 % of Na2O + K2O, up to 6 % of TiO2 and up to 15 % of other elements, whilst the ratio of Si4+ to Si4+ + Al3+ in the oxides mixture is up to 0.67, a viscosity at the liquidus temperature of above 30 Pa.s and, a liquidus temperature of below 1300 C, a solubility at pH 4.5 of at least 20 nm per day. Disclosed are also two production methods according to this invention.
