Hydrophile polyester-polyurethane foams, a process for their preparation and their use as humidity absorbing products

A single-step process is used to prepare the foam using highly ethoxylated polyether polyols. Preparing hydrophilic polyester polyurethane foams comprises reacting: (A) polyisocyanates; (B) polyester polyols containing at least two hydroxyl groups and having an average molecular weight of 400-10000;...

Summary:A single-step process is used to prepare the foam using highly ethoxylated polyether polyols. Preparing hydrophilic polyester polyurethane foams comprises reacting: (A) polyisocyanates; (B) polyester polyols containing at least two hydroxyl groups and having an average molecular weight of 400-10000; (C) ethoxylated polyether polyols containing at least two hydroxyl groups and having a degree of ethoxylation greater than 30 wt.% and a functionality of 2-6; (D) optional chain extender and/or cross-linking agent compounds containing at least two active hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight of 32-400; (E) catalysts, water and/or propellent; and (F) optional auxiliary agents and additives. An Independent claim is also included for the foams prepared by this process.
