Chucking and indexing table for upright drill presses and the like, designed to be placed by means of a pin 5 projecting downward from the bottom of the table in a clamping sleeve 3 in a holder located on the machine. It is characterized in that a horizontal plate or bracket 20 is arranged on top of the clamping sleeve, between this and the bottom of the table 4 and enclosing the pin 5, being joined to the clamping sleeve torsionally rigid, but free relative to the table and the pin, which plate or bracket is provided with an upward and downward movable indexing pin 23c for engaging with a number of holes 24 in the bottom side of the table and a pointer element 27 for reading off positional markings 26 placed around the periphery of the table corresponding to the holes 24, and the clamping sleeve 3 and the indexing pin 23c are arranged to interact for releasing of the table or locking of it in a position determined by the indexing pin by means of force elements 6, 23, such as pneumatic cylinders, and an operating element 29 which is common to them.
