Summary:A non-compressible belt (20) is arranged in wire conveying loop, which has voids (22,27) arranged uniformly along radial direction. The voids open in the side opposite to the web passing side of wire loop. The wire (4) contacts the press and counter rollers (14,13) at points (Ps,Pw) intersected by tangents (Ts,Tw) drawn to curved inlet and envelope surfaces of rollers. The press roller and counter roll with press nip are arranged in the wire conveying loop. The wire outer layer (15) containing web (10) is passed outside the wire conveying loop to transfer web to subsequent press section (2) after pressing by the rollers. The press roller has belt (20) and press shoe (32) which is arranged inside the belt. The press roller has convex inlet surface (31) and concave press surface (34) to press the web with the counter roller. The transition between inlet and press surfaces at a point (Ps) is intersected by a tangent (Ts) drawn to the inlet surface. The wire contacts the roller at a point (Pw) intersected by tangent (Tw) drawn to curved envelope surface of counter rollers. The tangents (Ts,Tw) intersect each other at an acute angle alpha which is in between 2-6 degrees. The voids in the belt defines volume equal to greater than that of water pressed out of the web. A high pressure air supply unit (25) and suction box (26) are arranged downstream of press nip and in the vicinity of belt to remove water received in the press nib. The voids has grooves arranged uniformly. The voids are arranged in the interspace between woven threads (23,24) of belt.
